About xpander.ai
xpander.ai is the platform enterprises use to run AI agents in production. Not to prototype them. To run them, with the connectors, permissions, audit trails, and runtime that a bank, an insurer, or a defense agency actually requires before anything touches a real system.
Our platform is running today inside insurance, fintech, and enterprise software companies, the kind of environments where "it worked in the demo" is not a shipping criterion.
Why this role exists
The value you bring to our customers is helping them find out which of their problems agents should actually own, design the right solution, and get it live in their environment.
Most companies we talk to have already tried and stalled. They built a pilot on a framework, it demoed well, and then it hit the wall: no permission model, no audit trail, no way to get it past security review. Their AI pilots didn't fail. They were never given a place to run. You are the person who shows them what it looks like when they have one.
What you will do
Work with customers to identify the use cases worth automating, and design the agent architecture that delivers them
Turn a customer's workflows, systems, and data boundaries into a concrete solution design
Deploy into their environment: cloud, VPC, or self-hosted, with SSO, RBAC, and audit configured the way their security team needs it
Build the integrations and configurations that connect xpander to the systems they already run
Run technical discovery and architecture conversations that surface the real constraints early
Deliver demos and reference architectures grounded in production behavior, not a happy path
Carry customers through security and compliance review with answers, not escalations
Feed what you learn in the field back into product and docs
This is a builder role with customer accountability.
You do everything with AI
This is not a preference. It's the job.
We sell agent infrastructure. If you are not already running your own work through agents, you cannot credibly design solutions on top of them, and you cannot move fast enough to be the first Solutions Engineer at a company this size. We expect you to be genuinely AI-native: standing up a customer-specific solution in an afternoon instead of two weeks, writing integration code with coding agents, and building the internal tooling that makes your work compound instead of starting fresh each time.
You should also have real opinions about where agents break, what they are bad at, and when not to use one. Those opinions are the credibility you bring into every customer conversation, because the people across the table have been burned already.
Who you are
Strong engineer first. You can ship and debug real systems
Deeply proficient with AI and coding agents as your default way of working, with real output to show for it
Able to move between a whiteboard architecture conversation and a terminal in the same meeting
Experience with backend platforms, infrastructure, APIs, and cloud systems
Comfortable with Kubernetes, containers, and deploying into someone else's environment
Clear, direct communicator. No hand-waving
Bias toward action and ownership in ambiguous environments
What success looks like
Customers running agents in production, on real workloads, in their own environments
Use cases that expand once the first one lands
A solution and deployment playbook that other people can follow
Product direction visibly shaped by what you see in the field
Why xpander
Early-stage product with real technical depth
Direct influence on product, GTM, and company direction
High-leverage role with ownership and visibility
